How might we address mental health in rural areas, with a focus on Farmington, MO? Developed in collaboration with BJC's Center for Clinical Excellence.
My team of three focused on mental health in rural communities, exploring the unique challenges these areas face and how we might create a service that effectively supports our target audience. We took an in-depth approach at every stage of the process, ultimately developing a final design project in collaboration with the Center for Clinical Excellence at BJC. Working alongside them, we gained valuable insights and refined our ideas.
Collaborating with BJC, the Farmington BJC Clinic, and the Farmington Clubhouse, we delved into the specific needs and challenges of rural mental health communities to understand what kind of service could make a real difference.
We redefined the supporter persona from a married partner to a friend of the individual in need. A friend is the ideal supporter — engaged but not overbearing — striking the right balance of involvement.
