Experimenting with Dyslexic Perception

The project begins by exploring various ways to visualize the combined effects of dyslexia, focusing on how dyslexic individuals might perceive letters and symbols differently. This includes flashing between visually similar letters and symbols, with added shaking effects to simulate the confusion often experienced.

These visualizations demonstrate the confusion and distortion that dyslexic individuals may experience when reading.

Basic Mechanics of Dyslexia

After experimenting with letter and symbol distortions, the next step introduces users to the core mechanics behind dyslexic perception. This phase is designed to break down the neurological and cognitive factors contributing to reading difficulties.

Refining Letter Reversal Visualization

One of the key elements explored in this project was how letters are often perceived as reversed or flipped. The refinement of this visualization aims to give users a deeper understanding of the challenges dyslexic individuals face while reading.

Reading Comprehension Test

The final step challenges the user to decode a dyslexic message, allowing them to experience firsthand the cognitive hurdles involved in reading and comprehension.
